Wisconsin Moonstone
March 19th members from the Kettle Moraine Geological Society traveled to Wausau in search of the elusive Wisconsin moonstone. They were met by Bill Schoenfuss who knows the specific area where this gemstone can be found. By the end of the rock hunt, everyone had found fine specimens to take home. There is a very small window of time that these stones can be collected in this area and our club is already making plans to be there next year to find more Wisconsin moonstone.
